Walking across the Bridge Between, slowly, I look down and see the drop--over 100 feet down. Below, a wide green river floats with a smooth, rhythmic current. A fast waltz of water fairies spinning clockwise, and counter clockwise, small and large, everywhere from one side to the other. The circles appear out of nowhere and quickly glide beyond my view.
I look behind me. I have crossed over two thirds of the bridge now. The Echo place where I lived for my whole life is far behind. The whispers of Fear and Anxiety are just barely a hum. For a moment I longed for my secret house in the woods, where I could hide. I wanted to turn around, but not badly enough to turn from the beauty before me...

Facing the New World, I suddenly noticed a sparkling blue knob at the end of the bridge. It appeared to be sapphire, my birthstone.
"That under the Lord's feet there appeared as it were a work of sapphire, and that this signifies the shining through of the Word."
